Tempatures are dropping in Texas!

Temperatures are beginning to drop, sparing us from the brutal Texas heat of the summer. So what better time to start some of those do-it-yourself projects than now? So grab that ladder, paint bucket and brush and get to work on repainting that exterior of your home.

It doesn’t take much to transform the exterior of your home with a new coat of paint - consider it a “couple-hundred dollar makeover” that can shield your walls from cracking and peeling and protect it from dangerous natural elements like sun, wind and rain. A proper coat of paint can last upwards of 20 years!

Before you start painting, wash and sand the surface to remove residue and mildew that often grows on the exterior of homes in arid climates. The best way to do both is to rent a power washer or have a professional clean your home. Once it’s clean, scrape off all the paint with a sander or heating gun to soften the paint.

Once you can see the bare wall after all adhesives have been removed, search for any holes or cracks that need filling.

Once the dirty work is done, grab that primer and your choice of paint color and get to work! What better way to enjoy the weather than a home renovation that adds value to your home and looks nice!

If you are not "up to all the work" - consider hiring a reputable paint company like Village Pro Painters in Lewisville.  Village Pro Painters will come out and take a look at your home painting needs and give you a free quote.
